A
Healthy Mind Promotes A Healthy Body

Did
you ever wonder how some people can seemingly take on the whole world
and never stress out, while others can get moved and rattled by the slightest
thing? Perhaps you have heard such sayings as: "Boy, he has thick skin",
or "Geez, don't take it so personal". STRESS as noted in The American
Heritage Dictionary is described as an applied force or system of forces
that tends to strain or deform a body. A mentally or emotionally disruptive
or disquieting influence; distress. SENSITIVE: Capable of perceiving with
a sense or senses. Responsive to external conditions or stimulations.
Susceptible to the attitudes, feelings, or circumstances of others. Everyone
is sensitive to some degree and each person deals with these 'disquieting
influences' of stress differently. How do you deal with stress?
DO YOU: Lash out?
- Become impatient? - Sleep? - Eat? - Take drugs? - All of the above?
No matter how thick-or thin-skinned a person may be, when these psychical
influences get under our skin they cause our bodies to act them out. And
depending on our degree of sensitivity, the body will 'freak out' to a
lesser or more degree. Think of your body like a sponge, and stress like
water. Some bodies can hold a great deal of stress, others can hold only
a little bit. But at some point we all need to be 'wrung out' - let the
stress go.
The quantity of stress
a person can deal with doesn't make them a stronger or better person.
What is important is knowing how 'you' deal with those foreign energies
(influences). The key is getting in touch with your information and how
to effectively deal with those psychical influences that bombard you all
day long. SRF offers classes in meditation and healing. These classes
are a great place to start and give you tools and techniques on how to
be aware of your sensitivity levels and how to deal with foreign energies
when they come your way. Once you learn how to clear consciousness, you
will find your mind settling and your body relaxing. SRF was created with
the sole (soul) purpose in mind to educate the sensitive person about
their spiritual life.
The American Spirit
Newspaper was created to further educate (via print and internet) people
about the different aspects of their existence on a physical, spiritual,
financial and mental level of being. In this issue you will find educational
articles about how to keep your mind healthy, aids in stress reduction,
a list of foods for the sensitive body, and a wonderful article helping

- how to know what your body is feeling. There are also fun articles and
columns such as the crossword puzzle, astrology, and Bay Area Pet psychic.
