Springtime
Treats For Your Body
By Donna Hart
Bursts
of color from spring bulbs, cherry blossoms galore and fresh green growth
everywhere... these are all the welcoming signs that spring has sprung.
You may be experiencing this energy as increased enthusiasm to get things
done. You want to do a million different things... But wait, your body
is not cooperating! Even though we (spirit) want to move fast our body
needs to catch up from the seasonal change from winter to spring. Here
are some tips to help the body acclimate:
1. Chinese
medicine says the new rising spring energy particularly affects
the liver and gall bladder. Cut out fried and sugary foods.
To cleanse the liver: for one month, increase water intake,
drink fresh citrus and vegetable juices and take a garlic supplement
daily, this should be sufficient to flush your liver.
2. Next
cleanse your colon with Colon Ease, a product available from
www.herbalhealer.com. This will insure that your body will release
any accumulated toxins from the winter. This product is very
gentle and effective. Make sure you drink plenty of water.
3. Give
to your body with simple at home spa treatments:
Muscle Soak
Draw a warm bath and add 1 cup Epsom salt, 1 cup baking soda
and five drops of lavender, mix well and soak for at least 20 minutes.

Lavender Honey
Milk Bath
Take 3 tablespoons of dried lavender flowers and process them in blender
until they become a powder. Place in glass bowl and add 1 and half cups
of whole milk or cream and one-third cup of honey. Place in glass jar
and store for up to one week. Makes enough for two baths. Shake before
using.
Facial Steam
Combine a handful of dried roses and lavender in glass bowl. Add boiling
water halfway up bowl, place towel over head and bowl, steam face for
at least five minutes. This is good to cleanse pores and also to help
release stress from face.
Moisture Mask
Combine two tablespoons of honey with two teaspoons of milk, smooth over
face and throat, leave on ten minutes, then rinse with warm water. For
other fun honey recipes check out www.honey.com.
Firming Face
Mask
Combine one tablespoon of honey, one egg white, one teaspoon of glycerin
(available at drugstores), and one fourth cup flower. Smooth over neck
and face, leave on for ten minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Tired Feet
Bath
Add 3 drops lavender, 3 drops rosemary and 4 drops lemon to 2 gallons
of water. Soak for 20 minutes. This bath soothes the feet and stimulates
circulation. A great internet site to visit for foot products is www.footsmart.com.
Invigorating
Body Scrub
Combine the following ingredients to make paste: 1 teaspoon dried ground
citrus peel 3 teaspoons ground almonds 2 teaspoons oatmeal 1 pinch clove
powder 1 teaspoon dried crushed rose petals 1 pinch nutmeg powder 2 tablespoons
of almond oil 2 drops of neroli essential oil (lemon or orange can be
substituted) 2 drops sandalwood oil
After bath apply a

wash cloth. Helps remove dead skin cells leaving skin soft.
Lastly, You may want
to schedule a Kundalini or Body Being communication reading at the Academy
