Sorry Xetor, but the guy who ran the cult originally was a
HOMOSEXUAL MUSIC TEACHER, WHO THEN WENT ON TO UFO STUDY THINKING BY
DYING HE'D MEET UP WITH A PHYSICAL SHIP TRAILING THE COMET.
Now you might say:
- Being a homosexual caused his eratic behaviour
- Being castrated caused his eratic behaviour
- Being a musician caused his eratic behaviour
- Being a comet watcher caused his eratic behaviour
- Being a male caused his eratic behaviour
- Being a senior caused his eratic behaviour
- Being admitted to a mental hospital caused his ect...
But not once did I hear about him professing any belief in God or
reading the bible, or that Jesus died for our sins. Now what were you
saying???
Xetor, I imagine during those "parades", you dress up like a hot
dog ... hmmmmm.... HEAVEN'S Gate! 1997 21:52:52 +0500

conclusion doesn't follow from your premise.
Premise: God created us.
Conclusion: Suicide is wrong. Hi Michael. My premise was that
since God created us, He has the right as the owner/maker to decide
when and how our end should come. He created us for His purposes, and
to take our own life is to defy His will in any further plans He may
have had. This is logical if you acknowledge the Creator. If you
don't, it doesn't matter. Whether you live or die, there is no point
in life if it is an accident.
Why are you guys so hung up on a "purpose" in life? Who says life
has to have a purpose?
As near as I can tell, once here, we are supposed to make our own
decisions about how to run our lives. If you call this playing God,
then we play God all the time. What about wars and health insurance?
I personally don't call this playing God, because he would have more
important things to worry about if he existed. Again, starting from a
premise of a Creator, once we are here, we should be attempting to
discover our purpose in life, which is a lifelong search for some.
Many people ignore God's will for their life, and in doing this, they
are playing God, and you are right, people do it all the time. Wars
are a good example of 'playing God'. Nations send young men to kill
each other for obscure political, economic, or bigoted purposes, and
they will have to answer to God, as I said in my previous post. Most
people, in ignorance of God and His purposes, are unaware of the
offenses they have piled up against their Creator. If their
consciences are tender, and they are drawn to God, they will find
forgiveness in Jesus for spurning their Creator. Few are chosen, it
seems, to be enlightened in this way, and most people take the easy
road, oblivious to their Creator's will in their life.
Your "God" makes it really easy for people to ignore him.
Not to mention "religious".
If were putting a black mark on his name, then he should come down
here and put us right.
Lets see here, I've got two choices. I can 1.) Turn off my brain
and believe in a totally invisible, incorpeal being that I have no
proof other than a book that was written 2000 years ago or, 2.) Start
using my brain and demand proof of this "God" despite the fact that
over half of the American people believe in this myth.Yep. Atheism is
defintly the "easy" road. But if one seeks the Creator from a sincere
heart, and if they have a willingness to give their all to Him as the
rightful owner of their lives, the universe opens up its mysteries,
and the light comes on. This person discovers the meaning of life in
returning to their Creator. Sorry, but this guy is going to have to
show up and answer for his crimes before I will accept him.
Peace and meaning to you in Jesus' name. &emdash; Scott Wilcox

Subject: The Rapture of the Church and Hale
Bopp...
Date: Mon, 31 Mar 1997 02:55:13 GMT
As I was driving home tonight from an errand, I looked up at the
Hale Bopp Comet. What a wonderful creation of God! As with most of
God's creation, Satan has managed to taint it. Look at the Earth and
what sin has brought into it. Look at all the great stars and
constellations in the sky and realize what Satan has done with
astrology.
As I pondered these things I thought about Heaven's gate, that
terrible victory for Satan. It dawned on me that Satan may have
bigger plans with Hale Bopp and Heaven's gate. When you hear news
stories about the Cult, nearly everyone talks about what decent
people the members were and how they didn't appear to go in for
life's more decadent pleasures. They were peace loving and completely
commited to their beliefs. The description sounds alot like a devout
christian, don't you think. Bear with me here. I know it sounds
weird.
Let's say that sometime in the next few weeks, all these devout
believers disappear off the face of the Earth (raptured actually).
Wouldn't it be very easy for the world to believe that the Heaven's
Gate people were right and all those loonie devout christians were
just taken up to the mother ship. I know it seems far fetched but I
could see the media going that route.
I have been studying end time prophesy for many years and often
wondered how Satan would cover it up and make Christians look like
they were wrong and the world was on the right track.
Be ready for the rapture as if it could happen today. Is your life
right with Christ? Have you accepted him as your personal savior? God
loves you so much that he sent his ONLY son to die for you so you can
spend eternity with him in heaven. If you want more information,
PLEASE EMAIL ME! This decision is too urgent to put off.
