How To Find God
By Rev. William Duby & Rev.
Marc Reymont

Would you like to have more of the health, harmony, prosperity,
the good in your life right now? Well, you can, because there is a
power within you and it's greater than you are. You can use this
power. The eternal revelation of God to you means that God is
revealing Himself to you at all times. You must realize that you live
and have your being in this superconsciousness we happen to call
God.
Before you can know and experience that Oneness with the God mind,
you have to know what you're looking for. What is God? What is this
superconsciousness? Where is this superconsciousness? You have been
given two faculties with which to ascertain any knowledge about any
level of reality. One faculty is analysis, taking things apart to see
what they're made up of. The other faculty that you have right now is
synthesis and this is when you take things and put them together and
make them work.
To analyze God or this state of awareness is very difficult. When
you try to take God apart and determine what shape, what color, what
form God is in, you fail to realize what God is made of because God
is form-less and you begin to die. God is everywhere. God is
imminent, omnipresent, all of these qualities right now. God is love,
life, and light. The human mind doesn't have the capacity to describe
God within the frame work of form, shape, color, etc. You cannot
split God into parts and see God that way. By trying to do so you
become a member of the dearly departed long before your time.
You can know God through synthesis much easier than through
analysis. In other words, if you decide right now to express what God
is, you will know God at the deepest level, at the core of your
being, and the law of your being will reveal it to you. You will find
that this is relatively easy to achieve.
When you look into the subject of God and yourself and the world
in which you live, you have to describe it in terms that you can
understand. The beautiful qualities of God are all abstract things.
To synthesize these God qualities, you must incorporate them into
your being. In other words, to know a higher state of consciousness,
you must incorporate this higher state of consciousness into your
whole being, into your body- mind complex.
By using the "law of assumption" you are placing these qualities
within yourself. Doing so will cause the divinity within you to
express itself and you will experience greatness. The lives of all
the great sages and masters of all the ages very beautifully show us
that those people who have manifested the qualities of God are almost
considered divine. They could do the things that God could do. When
people thanked Jesus for healing them, He always said, "Don't thank
me, I didn't do a thing. It is your faith that has healed you. I only
did my Father's will." Jesus also said, "Don't call me good. There is
only one that is good and that is God."
From these great sages and masters of all ages, we learn that they
were not able to show their followers what God is in the physical
form, but they were able to show their disciples how to live in such
a way that they could find an experience of divinity within
themselves. This is important. You can find that experience of
divinity within you and begin to attract all the good of life
beginning right now.
Spiritual awakening is equal to the efforts you put in meditation
and this is not always easy in the beginning. It requires time and
patience to accomplish meditation and, of course, it requires your
persistence. All meditation experiences have to be put together to
synthesize God. Our being, our body is God's temple, His house. The
most effective synthesis results from the compilation of your
experiences and their motivation.
You must learn from every side of life why you do the things you
do. By separating yourself from the turmoil of this physical life, by
enclosing yourself from all disturbances and from too much dependence
upon your senses, you realize the benefits of silence that is your
only access to successful meditation practice.
In the Lord's Prayer, there is no asking for things for the
physical body or physical needs. Everything in the Lord's Prayer
refers to the soul and the spiritual life. The bread of life is not
the bread you buy at the store for so many cents. This is the bread
that is constantly flowing into the body, the life energy that is
constantly flowing into your body and as you meditate, you can feel
this life energy coming into you. This power flows into us all the
time, cleansing us, rebuilding us, renewing us and rejuvenating us.
It is doing this all the time. What for, you may ask? Because instead
of you seeking for God, recognize that God is always seeking you. God
is always seeking you as that life energy making an effort to flow
through your consciousness.
It is God who takes the initiative in most people's religious
experience, not man himself. We are told that we must go and look for
God but this isn't so. Everything that happens to you is trying to
say to you, "Why don't you come close to Me? Why don't you come near
Me?" It is God who first calls us and implants in us a deep and
strong longing for Himself. However, God wants us to know Him with a
free will. If God forced you, then you would not be free. If you are
a child of God you can't be a slave. This God mind has given you the
faculties to know God, but you use them for other purposes and go off
the track. Whenever we go wrong, God sees to it that we come to a
dead end.
Consider the story of Jonah and the Whale. The whale represents
the ocean of life. We find ourselves in the belly of the whale, our
problems, the great whales. We get swallowed by these whales and when
we have no answer God says to us, "Give up and sit down."
When we think there is no way out a realization dawns upon you, it
comes from someplace, doesn't it? Hasn't it happened to you? This
realization doesn't come from outside yourself, but from within.
Otherwise it wouldn't be "self realization." Your soul speaks. It
always speaks to you from the silence, from your knowingness. Light
(consciousness) comes as it came to Jonah on being thrown out of the
belly of the whale. "Self realization" knocks at your heart right now
and it's up to you to admit the light. Why not let the light in
through meditation practice? Why not invite it in right now as you
let go of the past, let go of the fears, the doubts, the worries and
the anxieties of yesterday and feel the truth of what I'm speaking to
you right now?
What you're doing with your mentality is the problem. God is
waiting to come in. All you have to do is synthesize Him; but instead
we usually add other things. For example, instead of putting H20 to
create the drop of water, we're trying to combine nitrogen with
oxygen and wondering why we don't get water. This is why our prayers
are not always answered. As long as you associate prayer with a
certain location, your prayers will dissolve when you leave that
location. Recognize that in your relationship with God, letting doubt
into your consciousness destroys the true effectiveness of your
prayers.
Sometimes we believe in God for a few minutes, then when the
influence is absent or the pressure of life becomes rough, we drop
God. It seems that we are living in a do-it-yourself world, a
physical world where we become down trodden if we don't stand up for
our rights. We destroy ourselves by not synthesizing our life, by
failing to arrange our life so we can find God in everything. This is
the key &emdash; recognizing God in every experience, recognizing the
true inner authority of your being.
What are you really trying to find in life? Think about this. The
spiritual path and life doesn't consist of seeking out and following
someone far away. It's not going to the Himalayas where great masters
are living. You can find what you are looking for right where you
are. The spiritual path, like the razor's edge, is so sharp that it
can cut. You must sacrifice yourself. You must be willing to die for
the finding of this God consciousness, this spiritual life. Actually,
you do just that. What happens is by employing the consciousness of
the human self that is the consciousness of this limited mind, the
sense mind, we build a world of our own and become more or less
unhappy, disturbed and distracted. Everything that we accept is
really our own creation. These things that you are creating are
unreal, untrue and they are disturbing elements in your life.
It seems that we're always after bargains in life, aren't we? But
there are no bargains. We always get what we pay for. This is the
operation of the Law of Cause and Effect. The spiritual path of life
teaches you that there is a price for everything and if you are
willing to pay the price, you can have it. If you want to know God
and be one with this mind and live in harmony and balance and health
and wholeness and prosperity, if you want to become the master of
this life rather than the slave, if you want to become the good of
this life right now, you must be willing to pay the price. As soon as
you are willing to do this, you find that, in truth, there is no
price. It's so simple. It's so divine. It's what you become. That is
the price.
These qualities of soul constitute the path we have to develop and
this is what you are doing in this meditation concept. It is the
Light of Truth that heals your consciousness, converts you and turns
you about. You will go in a different direction and if direction has
been in the way of illness and unhappiness, a change to strength and
joy will be the result, right now.
I'm sure you've probably heard the phrase, "Have you repented?
Have you been saved? Have you found Christ?" Well, my belief is that
we have never been lost. You have never been lost. What repent really
means is to turn away from that which is undesirable and unproductive
of good. To find the Christ means to turn to the inner authority,
that superconsciousness inside you, that psychical essence within you
that always resides within you. To be converted is to have a complete
change in our way of living by turning in the other direction. This
is what is meant by being born again.
Jesus the teacher said, "Except a man be born again he cannot
enter the kingdom of heaven." How can you enter this kingdom of
harmony right now if you give authority to the outer conditions in
the office? Recognize this. Say to yourself right now, "The inner
authority within me heals every emotional wound that I have." Say it.
Feel it. "I am healed of every lack and every limitation. I am healed
of every mistake from the past and I forgive everybody and everything
and I move into the newness that this healed consciousness has given
me right now." Pretend your there now, and continue to pretend until
you believe it with all your heart, soul and strength. When you do,
you'll be glad you did because you'll be healed. Until you do, you'll
become miserable because you think that what I'm saying is not valid.
And so it is.
