Other People's Problems

When I was a little girl I was always sick. I had asthma at six weeks old and pneumonia a lot. This had me in and out of the hospital from infancy to ten. At times I could not breath and would need oxygen and shots in both arms.

People did not get along at my house, and the energy was always turbulent. When I look back on my life thus far, I can see what a sensitive child I was. I would cry if someone just raised their voice at me. I would hold things in. I wanted to hide and not be seen.

I remember coming home from the hospital being about five or six and the toys I receivd were just torn to pieces by my brother and sisters every time I returned. They saw me as weak and favored by the adults.

I can see I took it all on trying to heal what was not working in my parents marriage. Not being able to breathe was symbolic of taking it all on, smothering myself with dislikes from others. As I got older when my mom and dad would fight and the emotional energy was high, I would match by being very upset and that would bring on an attack. This went on until I was ten.

I felt as I got older, I did not belong, in a sense I knew there was another way to deal with the anger and a way that I did not have to responsible for other people's problems. Call and find out how to get in touch with yourself. (800) 642-WELL.
