What its all about

The American Spirit newspaper is an educational newspaper that has been published since 1992. The goal of the paper is to educate (bring out into the open) people about what is going on behind the scenes in all areas of their life, especially finances, the economy, spirituality, family, medicine, health issues, healing, etc.

We print 20,000 copies and distribute them throughout the San Francisco Bay Area (USA). The newspaper is staffed by volunteers. We do all our own layout and design.

The people that put the newspaper together are a great bunch. They donate their valuable time and energy to write and gather articles. Then the articles go through a selection and editing process. They find and/or create graphics. Now it is ready for layout on the computer. The entire paper is laid out on a PowerMac 8100 & a Quadra 700 using Quark Xpress. There is no paste-up involved. We provide the printer with film negatives, ready for them to make plates from.

If you are an artist, and would like to have your work used in the American Spirit, we would be delighted to consider it. You could mail us a sample of the picture right now and the staff will get back to you. If we decide that we want to use it, then we will need a transparency or a high resolution scanned file from you.
