Heavenly Birth

by Sandy Eis

I recently had the honor of attending my dad's birth into heaven, otherwise known as death of the earth body. I am compelled to write about the experience to share it and to continue in my own healing process.

My birth father had been in a deteriorating state physically for quite a few years. This gave my family time to prepare for his passing. In fact, there have been many times in the past few years when the nurses have called us to his bed and said that he would not make it through the night.

When my mother called me this last time and said that the nursing home had called to tell her that he was slipping away I hit the road once again. When I arrived I found him lying with eyes half closed. He appeared very relaxed. When he opened his eyes they looked glazed and as if he were looking to heaven. Then he closed them and slept. The next time he opened his eyes they rolled back into his head, and the nurses told me this was a sign that he was ready to go. I read to him from his Jewish prayer book that evening.

I observed no pain or suffering in my dad's eyes. As the days moved on his breathing was hard but not labored. Progressively his breathing became deeper and more relaxed. It was incredibly peaceful. The last half an hour before his "death" he would breathe out and stop, and I thought he was gone, and then he'd suck in another breath. Then he breathed two light small breaths and stopped.

When the aides came to clean his body I helped. I washed his hands and feet. And I stayed there with his body until the funeral home came to take it away.

That's the story of how my dad rebirthed himself until he was clean as new, and then went home to God. For a year or so up until his passing I had noticed that he smelled like an old man. By the time he was done breathing his last breaths he smelled totally clean and fresh. He breathed this way for 96 hours straight. My longest rebirthing session was 2 1/2 hours. If you have rebirthed or done any breath work you know what I am talking about.

Every person has a different way of going through the process of death. I share the viewpoint that it is like birth. If you have attended a live birth you know it is a very beautiful and amazing experience. Birth out of the body and back to pure spirit is just as beautiful. It may be sudden, or long and drawn out. Each experience is different, just as each of us is unique. But we are all most definitely on the same path to home.
