January 4th, 2005 was the First Annual World Hypnotism Day; all around the world hypnotists and hypnotherapists were doing something to promote the positive benefits of hypnosis. The International Spiritual Hypnotherapy Institute of Berkeley was very busy with this event. The day began with a visit from KRON4 Morning News. Liam Mayclem and his camera man, Dean, spent three hours at the school, talking with Debi Livingston about hypnosis. He interviewed several people who have used hypnosis to successfully quit smoking, overcome the fear of flying, and create good study skills for school.
During a break, both Liam and Dean were guided into hypnosis so they could experience, first hand, what the trance state feels like. They were both amazed at how relaxed they became in a very short amount of time, and how great they felt afterwards. Through-out the day and evening, several Certified Hypnotherapists from ISHI School of Hypnosis Training were offering free hypnosis demo's in various locations around the Bay Area, including the Academy For Psychic Studies in San Jose. All the events were filled with people curious to know more about hypnosis. The public response to World Hypnotism Day has proven that more and more people are turning to hypnosis as a way to create positive, healthy, permanent changes in their lives.
Some of the things participants learned about hypnosis were: hypnosis is a natural state of mind we go into every day. The hypnotist has no power over you, you are in control the entire time. You will always be aware of everything going on around you. You are not sleeping like when you go to bed at night. Your ability to focus is enhanced. You won't give away secrets or do anything against your will. They also learned hypnosis can help you: quit smoking, lose weight, stop procrastinating, start exercising and enjoy it, end addictions, increase self-confidence and certainty, achieve goals and personal life dreams, increase productivity at work, release stress. It is used for anger management, pain control, fear of intimacy as well as increasing and helping with spiritual growth and unfoldment.
If you missed the events being offered on World Hypnotism Day, don't worry. ISHI School of Hypnosis Training offers a low fee Hypnosis Clinic every Monday from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Once a month there is a Free Hypnosis Demo, and Hypnotherapy Certification Training Courses are offered through-out the year.
