Have you noticed how a certain unique percent of the population is treated and looked at differently than everyone else? I am of course referring to babies and royalty. They both get special treatment or perks everywhere they go.

Before both arrive at whatever destination, their reputations precede them. When they do enter a room, all attention goes to them. People often speak in hushed tones around them. Wherever they are, people vie for their attention. Just the slightest smile or sign of acknowledgment from them can make a mere mortals day. Neither one has to do anything, they can just be. Neither earn their position, they are born into it. Neither has to work, everything is done for them. In fact, they can do nothing all day if they choose. If anyone else took that same line they would be labeled lazy, unmotivated and lacking goals. You must do things according to their schedule and needs. They don't have to work for a living, but check their schedule first!

Everything they do or say is profound or newsworthy. If anyone else were to do or say some of the same things, they are looked at strangely. For example, would anyone you know really be enraptured if you said, "goo, goo?" Apparel is another thing. Neither dresses like the rest of the population. For royalty, crowns, robes and the use of a scepter are not unusual. For babies, diapers, booties, blankets wrapped around them a certain way (some kind of ancient ritual I believe), and the use of rattles are not o ut of the ordinary. Oh, anything to be noticed!

And how about the special protocol in dealing with both? It is a good idea to wash your hands before making contact with either. Your appearance and every move are duly noted. If you are allowed to hold a baby, certain rules must be followed. Always support the head. Make them feel secure. Actually, with royalty the same rules apply.
