The Teachings of JesusBy Rt. Rev. Devi Livingston, Bishop
Have you ever decided, at some point in your life, that you were going to start liking yourself more, treating yourself better and letting yourself know what a great person you really are? Perhaps you faced yourself in the mirror and attempted to reinforce these ideas with positive affirmations. If you've never tried this before give it a shot and see what happens. I once had a job selling cosmetics door to door in people's homes. I'd look in the mirror and say wonderful, positive things about myself and my ability to make sales; that the women would tell all their friends and I'd build a large clientele. My mother ended up being my best customer. What went wrong? As much as I wanted to believe in myself and the positive things I was saying, I had many, many previous years of "negative affirmations" stored in my subconscious mind. Watching my parents struggle and fight over money, hearing my mom say things like "life is like a game of Monopoly and people like us always lose", turned my subconscious mind into a swamp land of limitations and non-havingness. Even though I wanted better things out of life, the beliefs and ideas which had been absorbed inside were acting like a barrier, making it difficult, if not impossible for me to achieve my goals. Does this ring a bell in any area of your life? Wine symbolizes new faith. The old wine is symbolic of other people's beliefs that were passed down to you. Irregardless whether those beliefs worked for them or not, they became your dowry. If you attempt to place new information or a new level of awareness on top of the old beliefs, there's a good chance you'll experience invalidation. Sort of like when you share something precious with a best friend who doesn't seem to think what is important to you is any big deal. It is the same as sharing needles. Unless you clean out the old beliefs and ideas first, your subconscious mind will reject the new attitude simply because that is what it has been conditioned to do. Wow! That must be quite a chore, you may be thinking. In truth, it's very simple. You can begin by learning how to enter a positive trance state, to alter consciousness so you can see things in a whole new way. This positive trance state will show you two things: Why and how things are the way they are in your life, and, how situations truly can be once the "old wine" is emptied out from your psychic space. The emptying out process is easy by applying the psychic tools which are taught at the Academy For Psychic Studies. They are simple and effective! My life has changed and continues to improve, and I see many other people experiencing positive results. Plus, they're having fun! You are a treasure chest filled with wonderful gifts and talents. Now just may be your time to tap into that power within you and discover what those precious talents are. If you're ready, give us a call and ask about classes and workshops. Copyright © 1996 Sterling Rose Press, Inc.
