What Does An
Intuitive Investor Do Now?
By Mort Litwack
Good
question. At this time the market has been sharply declining. The best
way it can be described is that it has been meandering. When investors
look at the market going down a bit more each day, many people withdrawi
their funds. Some are putting the money they formerly invested in the
market in remodeling their homes. Others figure the market isn't the
right place to be now and they are investing in real estate. There are
those who are selling their investments, hoping they can salvage some
of their money. Others, are just stunned by the market's downward trend
and are doing nothing, just waiting for conditions to pick up.
As an intuitive
investor, the writer faces the same challenges as other investors. However,
the writer knows that to remain in his second chakra where all the feelings
and emotions reside is not wise. It is so easy to become reactive to
the stock market environment and act on the basis of your feelings.
The object of successful investing is to acknowledge present time and
act on the basis of the existing conditions. That isn't always easy.
There is
a saying, "Those who keep their cool when those about them are
losing their heads, maybe they don't understand the situation."
I'm suggesting that those who live in present time and act rather
than react are the ones who wind up becoing more successful. In terms
of their chakras, they move from the second chakra up to the sixth chakra,
so they can get higher up on the mountain, and see more clearly.
So, what
is the writer doing now.? Several things. He realizes there is a cyclical
nature to the stock market and sees this swing downward as merely a
phase. He is "bottom fishing", that is when the market overreacts,
he takes advantage of the overreaction by investing in issues that are
worth more than their stock price indicates.
A second
strategy is to invest in options on undervalued stocks so as to maximize
the leverage of your holdings. Another tactic is to shift money market
funds paying 1.8% to GNMA
funds paying 5.8%. This is to maintain sufficient rent on your money
so as to have funds available when the market turns around.
The issue
basically is this. That if you can see above what's going on at the
moment. And get beyond your feelings, and out of a reactive mode, you
can gain the perspective which will allow you to get into an active
mode to manage your investments.

less of a reactor and more of actor on the stage of life.
