Hypnosis
is a natural state of mind we go into every day. Reading a good book,
driving down the highway and missing your exit because you were deep
in thought, even studying for a test are all examples of being in
hypnosis. However, many people still don’t understand the true
power and positive aspects of using hypnosis in their lives.
When you are in hypnosis you are not sleeping, like when you go to
bed at night. It’s considered a ‘trance-like’ sleep
because your body and mind are so relaxed, yet you are still very
much aware of everything going on around you. You can talk while in
hypnosis. You hear sounds when you are in hypnosis. You won’t
give away any secrets or say things you don’t want to say while
in hypnosis. Most importantly, you won’t do anything you don’t
want to do or go against your personal code of morals and ethics,
just because you are in hypnosis. You can be Catholic, Protestant,
Muslim or Jewish and go into hypnosis without compromising your personal
religious or cultural beliefs.
Hypnosis is not a magic pill for instant enlightenment. Hypnosis will
reveal to you why you are the way you are, and how you can be when
you decide to shift your perspective to create life changes.
To have change take place easily and permanently, you need to be in
hypnosis because that is when you are in your subconscious mind. Your
subconscious mind is the storehouse of memory of all your life experiences,
whether you consciously remember them or not. Your subconscious mind
is also where habits and patterns are stored. Once you access your
subconscious mind you have tapped into your inner power where anything
is possible! Napoleon Hill says, in his book “Think and Grow
Rich”, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it
can achieve.” How true!
I have worked with thousands of people in hypnosis for a variety of
issues. I’ve done regression work and parts therapy, emotional
releasement, weight loss and smoking cessation. With all these modalities
the most powerful part of the sessions was the direct suggestions
to create change. Why? Because the individual is accessing their inner
mind to see, while imagining and believing they have already become
the person they yearn to be. They feel what it’s like to be
a non-smoker, to be 100 lbs. lighter, to have the job of their dreams.
They are re-framing their mind to think in the positive. They are
changing their perspective about themselves and the world around them.
I had a client who was moving to a different state. She was nervous
because she didn’t know where she’d be living. She was
losing sleep over this issue. While in hypnosis I helped her change
her perspective on this situation. I suggested that somewhere in the
town she was moving to was a home, waiting for her to find it. She
would be attracted to this home like it was a magnet drawing her to
it. Instantly she smiled and said, “Wow, I never thought to
look at it like that before.” She changed her outlook. The situation
remained the same, she still needed to find a place to live, but she
was seeing the situation in a positive light. When she moved she emailed
me and said she found her house in less than a week.
When another client first called me for a hypnosis session she wanted
to know if it would help her fiancé not have another affair.
I said of course not, but hypnosis could help her release the hurt
and uncomfortable feelings she had about the situation and help change
her perspective. In the first session she released old emotional wounds
from childhood. In the second session she was able to see where she
had “lost” herself in the relationship. She started taking
responsibility for her thoughts and actions towards her boyfriend.
She also got inspired to spend time doing nice things for herself,
free from worrying whether or not her fiancé would have another
affair. On our third session together, I helped her find the original
mental image picture of when she first fell in love with her fiancé.
She was able to see that image and immense love was still stored inside
her. I suggested she allow that original love to flow through her.
She said it was such an easy, no effort thing to do because beneath
all the ups and downs in their relationship, they truly loved each
other. She left the office with a renewed attitude about herself,
her fiancé and their relationship.
A few months later I received a postcard from the two of them; they
were enjoying their honeymoon in Europe, and when they returned her
husband wanted to schedule sessions for himself!
When you change your perspective of your world you truly can change
your life. You have the power and potential to be the best individual
you yearn to be. Hypnosis is a wonderful, safe and effective tool
to help you create those changes.
