A
Daughter's Farewell
By Cathleen Hodgson This is a piece
that I never expected to write at this point in my life; a tribute to
the life of William Duby. I'm very blessed and proud to be a staff member
at the Spiritual Rights Foundation. I came across these doors like a lost
puppy and through my time here have healed from many hurts and grown in
my awareness as a spiritual being.
Rev. Bill helped
me greatly in my journey. He was always truthful. He would deliver the
most beautiful messages about how grand life is here on planet earth and
give many people inspiration to achieve the best they could. He held in
mind the highest self image of a person until they themselves could also
see themselves in that same light. He was such a great friend, he always
was doing for others, helping them in their lives. He cared so much for
people to the point of hurting when they hurt. He would protect those
who were getting hurt and point out where you were hurting yourself.
He was also very
funny. He had a great sense of humor and could make people laugh with
his jokes and the way he would explain things.
He was a great
father and was very family oriented. He helped me re-unite with my own
dad with whom I'd become estranged in my upbringing. This was a wonderful
experience to have, to have your dad as a close friend; for a woman, this
helps her to relate better to all men and to co-join with her heavenly
father.
The Spiritual
Rights Foundation is a wonderful place to come and heal and learn about
yourself. In the last few years there were a few people that left here
disgruntled and decided they would blame all the things that had gone
wrong in their lives on Rev. Bill and my church. They just didn't want
to take responsibility for themselves and grow up. They have been devoted
to defaming the church in which they were ministers in any way they can.
I admired the
way Rev. Bill handled the constant attacks on his character. He continued
to deliver his message. His message is that of the teachings of Jesus
Christ. He was always quoting the Bible and showing how it applied to
our lives. He was a wonderful teacher. He taught us well and I am again
blessed to be a vehicle for his teaching and message to carry on.
