Goal Achievement
Though Hypnosis
By Debi Livingston, CHT. CI
I've been enjoying
watching the Winter Olympics with all the joys of victories and agonies
of defeat. Did you know these Olympians are all great hypnosis subjects?
Let me explain.
It was the dream
of every participating athlete to compete in the Olympic Games. They held
that goal picture in their mind day in and day out while they practiced
and competed. It didn't matter the personal sacrifice, they wanted to
be the best at what they did, and they succeeded. To keep this simple,
I'll use figure skating as the example.
Each skater has
a personal trainer or coach. This is the person who knows the sport and
guides the athlete through the steps to perfection. Before the athlete
steps onto the ice, they have been running through their routine in their
mind over and over again. They are picturing and feeling themselves skating
the routine, completing the combinations and jumps with perfection. When
they get on the ice, it's a matter of their body acting out what they
had imagined. I even heard the commentators say this, that it's a matter
of getting out of the body's way and letting it do what it's been trained
to do. The skaters, with the help of their coach, also work at releasing
fear, doubt, and nervousness and have their personal ways of ñtuning outî the crowd so they can remain focused. All of this was done first in their
subconscious mind.
Your subconscious
mind does not know the difference between fantasy and reality. This is
why your imagination is so important and powerful in achieving goals.
When you are picturing and feeling what it is you want to achieve, as
if you have already achieved it, you are making an imprint in your subconscious
mind. The more this imprint is energized, the sooner it will become a
reality in your conscious life.
What is it you
want to experience? Do you want to get a better job? Do you want to stop
smoking? Perhaps you have an audition in acting, dance or music and you
want to be your best.
These are all
goals which can be achieved with ease, confidence and enthusiasm when
you allow yourself to be guided into your subconscious mind for a real
change!
