How
Your Mind Can Keep You Well
By Margaret Langry
There
once was a little girl named Margaret. She had an incredible imagination.
She was a Starfleet captain, exploring incredible new worlds and mingling
with aliens. She excavated in Africa with Mary Leakey discovering our
earliest human ancestors.
Margaret was bold and spoke her mind. She was smart and could do anything.
She was also a very sensitive girl. If you stepped on her backpack shed
experience its pain and cry. She took everything very seriously because
she felt things so deeply. Sometimes shed pick up on other peoples
thought forms and act them out, thinking that they were her own.
Margarets parents loved her but they also had four unruly teenagers
and they demanded a lot of their attention. There were so many things
she wanted to do but was often told, No, you cant do that,
meaning, You dont have permission because we have no time.
However, she heard it so often she understood You arent capable
of doing that.
As she grew older, Margaret became very angry and frustrated and she developed
a rebellious and stubborn attitude. It was an incredible burden. She blamed
everyone else for her unhappiness and her problems. She didnt understand
why other people had such an easy time in life, getting what they wanted
without effort. She had to work her fingers down to bone to get by but
still never quite got what she wanted. She was so angry with God for sticking
her with such a miserable life. Margaret didnt understand that God
had given her everything she had ever asked for. Huh? How can that be?
God gave her all these trials and tribulations because she had asked for
them?
Why would any right-minded person ask for pain and misery? No one thinking
right would ever ask for that. The thoughts, beliefs and ideas
we entertain are what were going to manifest in life. When we speak
we send a vibration through our bodies. Our bodies are 80% liquid so that
vibration passes through very easily. Since the body is so plastic and
pliable it forms itself according to what we are commanding it to do.
Why does that happen? Things go haywire when we begin thinking that we
are separate from God. Hes the Source and a very generous giver.
Everything we say is a prayer for or against ourselves. Every time we
say, I am
we invoke God, creating that consciousness
for ourselves. How often have I said to myself, Im fed up
with
(or tired, frustrated, angry, etc)? Each time I invoke
that thought I fill myself up with whatevers bugging me, and God
sends more opportunities to experience it. The body can be tired or experience
frustration or anger, but the infinite spirit cannot.
Study the works of Jesus and other spiritual teachers like Rev. William
H. Duby, Mark Reymont, Catherine Ponder, Napoleon Hill (author of Think
and Grow Rich) or Claude Bristol (the author of the Magic of Believing).
They illustrate that everything begins with the thoughts we hold in mind.
We can think ourselves rich or poor, sick or healthy. Its all up
to you and what thinking you choose to entertain. However you choose,
you have to take responsibility for it. Remember, God is a hilarious giver
and whatever you request Hes ready to give.
Rev. Bill said healing starts when we tune into who we really are, that
infinite spirit of life. How do we tune in? How can we start that process
and break the chains of old habits and negative thinking? Start by making
the decision to grow and unfold.
Two of the most powerful life changing words that Rev. Bill spoke to me
were What if? Each and every time I didnt think I could
do something or someone else didnt believe me capable I thought
to myself, Well, what if? I wanted to quit a job I had had
for 10 years and start my own business but I was afraid. No one in my
family had ever owned their own business. I didnt believe I had
what it would take. I asked myself, What if I quit my job, what
would happen? All the possibilities loomed before me. But as I kept
asking What if?, and applying the tools and techniques I had
learned at the Spiritual Rights Foundation, I broke through all the thoughts
that kept me limiting my potential for growth, unfoldment and prosperity.
I jumped off the bandwagon of negativity and complaining. I tuned into
that incredible potential that the universe had to offer and began manifesting
my true goals, such as owning my own business.
Recently Ive been imaging myself totally healthy and at the weight
I want to be. Ive been picturing how that would feel, what kind
of activities Id be doing, how Id look in my favorite jeans.
People have been coming up to me asking if Ive lost weight. By imaging
and feeling that Im healthy and slim, my body is matching that vibration.
God has created this incredibly abundant universe. Its a candy store
with all our favorite treats. All we have to do is step through the threshold
and choose. Its all there for us to enjoy if were ready to
receive.
