    The Spiritual Rights Foundation, Inc. has a motto. It is "Freedom is the Essence of Life."

    I have tapped into that essence and I have been experiencing a quality of freedom that in the past, I only dared dream was possible.  Most of my adult years were spent seeking the approval of everyone around me. This created quite a limited perception of life. It seemed that with everything I did, I was constantly looking over my shoulder to see if I was being accepted by friends, family and co-workers. On an energy level, I was locked out of my body, spinning in a whirlwind of self defeating thoughts and a "tear myself down" attitude.

    When it came to God and religion, my fantasy library was even more creative. I had invented a Jesus in my mind that had absolutely no basis in reality whatsoever.  In short, I was living a life of duality because I was thinking that there was God and there was me. I couldn't see that God was already with me, being me. So I spent years on the fabled search to find Him. I make a joke now saying I took my teens and threw them over here, then I took my twenties and threw them over there, and most of my thirties got tossed someplace else. Physically my body was being drained, I was looking and feeling old before my time. Mentally I had nothing new to look forward to, and emotionally I was just plain bored.

    My marriage had failed, I was raising two kids alone and unless I perpetuated the pattern that got me into that mess to begin with - hopping into bed with a male for security - life seemed pretty bleak.  One day Rev. Bill introduced me to the art and science of altering consciousness, or, what we call, going into Trance. He acted as the Shepherd, guiding me home into my body. My life has never been the same since.

    I now have the keys to go in and out of my subconscious mind which is where I commune with the God of my heart. This is the door Jesus speaks of - He is the door which leads to that pasture of consciousness. The key to open the door is going into the positive trance state.

    In this pasture there is no separation in Divine Mind, there is only One. I have made friends with my subconscious mind, so that when I am walking through my day, I carry the knowledge and awareness with me that there isn't Debi and God, there is simply God having fun as Debi. I can join in now and play.

    I can go in and out of the garden of my mind where I have learned to take dominion over the thoughts that would want me to start tearing myself down again, like weeds choking the life out of a meadow filled with beautiful wild flowers.
And I can enjoy my body without condemning it or its sexuality. I can enjoy myself and my life without tracking down a male or throwing myself away. Trance has been my freedom ticket where I have found my best friend, my soul mate, if you will. And all I had to do was come home into my body to find me.
