Taking Time with Me for Your Well Being

By Rev. William Duby

There are a lot of misperceptions when it comes to the reality of a true spirituality.

Spirituality by the practical application of common sense is the use of insight to discern the truth from the lie.

People from every walk of life throughout every age have searched for God and/or the truth. The ways and means of awakening to the truth or presence of God has been readily available to the humanity but it took the likes of Jesus to reveal the heavenly face of the Gracious Father, by the exercise of common sense. And of course, by doing so He was killed by stupid people who thrived on using politics and religion to control the mind and body of the people.

In my mind, in fact, in my heart I know that Jesus didn't come to create a new religion but to destroy the negative influence of the religion of His day; namely, Judaism. Why else would He stand before the members of the synagogue and announce that the old testament, written by Moses, was fulfilled as He spoke? This guy was a down-to-earth, dude who was born incapable of parking His brains at the door when it came to discerning the truth from the lie. His psychic ability to exercise second sight to erase the negative influence of first impressions was par excellence! In other words, He knew a viper, snake and hypocrite when He saw one. And what I like about the heavenly brother, is that He dared to say it like it was. I mean, the dude was for real! If I was God, I wouldn't mind housing my Divine presence inside that Man.

In the modern era, people are searching to and fro for someone or something to relieve them of their living sorrow that they don't know who they are, much less where they are going. And I dare say it is because they don't know where they are at for Christ sake! So many are being led astray by the "phony baloney" in religion of every faith and the spectacular claims of every form of new age spirituality. Religion is void of the God fearing Spirit necessary to prevent leading the congregation astray while "hocus-pocus" is being disguised as spirituality. If Jesus was walking the planet today, He'd have a field day making a mockery of what He would see. Phony is everywhere and phony is in!

Nothing has changed in the nearly two thousand years since it was reported that Jesus talked and walked upon this earth as a Man. The mind of man was clouded by mis-perception then, as now. The Second Coming of Christ isn't about some dude showing up in the sky while we all stand around in awe, secretly jealous and envious that we aren't like Him. Hell no! It is about exercising the same common sense of the Christ consciousness that Jesus exemplified. And, even if you don't believe in Jesus (which He said was perfectly okay by the way), the quality of thinking represented in the gospels is what we all need to adopt as our own if eternal happiness is to be our reality. The summation of the teaching Jesus talked and walked as His life, was that He and the Father were One; and that if you saw the consciousness of the Father working through Him, then it had to be in you as it was in Jesus, else you wouldn't see it at all. That in and of itself is good news. Only a complete and moronic idiot would choose to believe that they and God were separate. What-in-the-hell are they into... spiritual S&M? If God is the all of everything how could that be? How could one be separated from their Source except in their thinking, which is false at core reality?  There is no separation in Divine Mind. But then again, Jesus made reference to the fact that there would always be people poor (in spirit).

Recently, a large group of people committed suicide because they wanted to meet the imaginary space ship following the comet, Hale-Bopp, flying by the earth. How crazy! These poor souls actually thought that an alien commander was going to issue them some perfect spirit body to replace their flesh bodies. Now think about it! That's taking the idea of perfection too far. We were not born to be perfect, but to gain perfect understanding. When you strive to be perfect you find yourself in a karmic condition. In other words, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. When you strive to be of good cheer by letting it all hang out - the good, the bad and the ugly - the perfection of the Deity becomes your caretaker and you live by that grace and all the perfect pictures you're stuck on depart and you enjoy sanity.

The leader of that cult was a guy that once worked as a minister of a Christian choir.  Can you believe it? Amazing isn't it? Something happened to this poor soul. On a metphysical level he lost his mind and became a sick psychic, searching outside himself for what could only be inside. Surely, he lost his faith. Did he miss the scripture that says that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us? He went the wrong way, in mind, his thinking became twisted.

God the Spirit became flesh and dwelt among us, spirit. Get it? We are spirit, plain and simple. That's why we are admonished to remain devoted to know like God in spirit and not flesh. You can't go from flesh to spirit.  It's great for your body to be carnally minded, but not you when you want to talk or listen to God. Trying to do so is like sending electricity back up the line, it shorts out.

That's what happened to this lost soul, his brain shorted because his mind blew asunder. We are spirit and God is Spirit, got it? The sunshine and sun are one; and, we and God are one because at core reality we are composed of the same substance, hallowed light. And when we are in our right mind we see it. And when we are not, we are blind to it.

In the case of this poor soul, he was blind and led a lot of blind people to a mindless death. And what they all had in common was their sexuality was messed up. In other words, their mind was loaded with a lot of false ethics and morality on the subject matter and they were running away from that fact.

Spirit is consciousness and the light of that consciousness is us. And when we're conscious of it we come alive to the reality of it and experience the eternal life of the universe as our own; the same as Jesus did without all the hullabaloo.
The flesh is the container for the spirit and the soul of that spirit or the awareness of it's source, resides in the blood of the body. When you put spirit inside a body, give it birth, and it stays around long enough to realize that it is not the thoughts or feelings of the body, then you have a living soul. In other words, an awakened individual who takes his stand among the living, who have joined the human race as an open minded temple.

In Holy Writ, in 1 Corinthians 3:16, St. Paul asks the question in a sarcastic way, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" Obviously, most of us don't. If we did we'd quit searching outside. Are these lost souls who died in vain - the very types of people Jesus spoke of when He made mention that the earth would always have poor (in spirit)? I am convinced they fit in that category of the lost. In fact, I am sure they aren't the only people with that kind of crazy thinking about trying to be perfect. Millions of people everyday and in every way are searching for everything but common sense to relieve them of the inherent idiocy known as "the sins of the Fathers."

I was just thinking the other day how many people are trying to find their spiritual path. I am amused at the thought of it. Each does the looking as though there really is some path to find. Some run to Nepal, India, others run to Sedona, Arizona. Personally, I go to my favorite fast food restaurant. You can get unraveled at MacDonald's as easily as Nepal. In fact, it will save you a lot of time, energy and money. Didn't Jesus say (John 4:21-24), and I paraphrase, that the day will come, in fact was there in His day, that man would no longer worship God in this or that mountain. That God was Spirit and that those who want to Worship God (or see the worth of applying the goodness of common sense in their life) would do it in Spirit (or consciousness) and in Truth (in their direct knowing of this fact).

When Jesus revealed that the kingdom of heaven or kingdom of God was at hand, He was saying that the way to arise in consciousness and take our stand among the living in the supreme consciousness of the universal Christos, was readily available. All we had to do was lift our eyes up and see it. In other words, alter our consciousness for the subjective transcendental experience. It is clear by the attitude of Jesus that the search for God is a fabled search; else why would He channel the consciousness that says "I am with you always even until the end of the world?" (Matthew 28:20)

Jesus had to be raised up like a serpent in the wilderness; we too must arise in consciousness before we will see for certain that we have it made already, just like Jesus had it made already. And since we are doomed to the perfection in consciousness that brings forth the awareness of our soul to know better than we presently do, we might as well enjoy where we are at, for it isn't going to change for Christ sake.

Everything is happening the way it does because it works for God. It helps expose the vipers, snakes and hypocrites. Jesus said He didn't come to bring peace but division (Luke 12:51). So, the way of the world does work for God. The earth is a schoolhouse for the university of cosmic consciousness embedded in the earthly flesh of our bodies. After we leave, the schoolhouse must stay as it is for the next generation in need of training to maintain their hallowed grace. Realize, we live in a never-ending world. People have been talking doom and destruction for 10,000 years. It is a never-ending story. All we can do is rise above it. Rather than try to be perfect on the outside we need to gain perfect understanding on the inside where it counts for eternity. You don't do that by searching outside. You remain inside, steadfast in your certainty that it can be no other place but within you.

I laugh when I see people trying to make their body perfect. The body is perfect for being a body personality and only a body personality. It carries the soul personage inside it, at the level of the blood . . .  for the soul resides in the blood. It does what a body is supposed to do. It is loaded with carnal knowledge and only carnal knowledge for procreative purposes, and only for procreative purposes. Condemning (slaying) the sexuality of the body is a cheap excuse for avoiding the soul responsibility to make certain that morals and ethics are kept intact at the spiritual level where they can be carried out. Forcing them on the body through the exercise of religious, political and social rhetoric causes  levels of grief and guilt, not to mention a vast array of psychosomatic illnesses. The sexuality of the body is the reflection of your spiritual estate, the same as the condition of the body is a reflection of the wellness of your mind. If you want to experience good morale on the physical level then morals and ethics must be harnessed and kept at the metaphysical level where they belong. One cannot change the spots on the leopard. Neither can you go from flesh to spirit. Part of being spiritual is leaving the flesh alone to enjoy procreative life.

I tried the vegetarian thing for awhile. This is to say, until I realized two things. First, I was incapable of taking an interest in making certain I mixed my grains and nuts to get the eight essential amino acids in my diet. Secondly, the scriptures tell me (Matthew 6:31) not to be concerned what I wore as clothing or ate as food. In essence, saving my sorry soul (awareness) was more important than trying to be perfect for God. It became clear that if I have to accept God as He is, He'll just have to accept me as I am. And if He sees fit that I should change then it will happen as easily as pubic hair found its way upon my body. He'd do it. Only He has the power to transform me into His likeness. I exhausted mine trying to do it. God knows I wore out the power of my wife, not to mention what I did to my mother. I just ran out of power to keep the game going. I learned my lesson and I learned it well. I expended myself in more ways than one and found myself in a hospital bed without any power at all to stay alive. I thank God that in spite of myself He gave me His power.  I was given a new beginning.

I recognized I didn't have to work out my good and bad karma. The hell with it. I discovered there was a law of grace operative in the universe. I quit dating karma. I realized she was a bitch. I began to date grace. She was divine. I gave up vegetarianism. I figured, if it was good enough for Jesus to eat lamb, it was good enough for me to eat meat. The food for thought that I had been given for years was just so much "bull" anyway. Why not the real thing?

I am so glad today that my mind can keep me well, because my heart is right where it belongs, in the love of God for its creatures.
The Christian thing has bothered me for years. Not in the sense that I hate Christians. God forbid! Christians are people too! I hate the hypocrisy. I see through it and it bothers me because I have compassion for my fellow man. How in the hell can you say that you are a Christian and vote for the death penalty? I mean, after all, if you have turned your life over to "your Lord and Savior" - isn't taking a life out of the question? If you are possessed by the life and times of Christ and you are in the Spirit of His Grace, aren't you obliged to "support the given life" rather than vote to take it? Just wondering, that's all.

I have a problem with groups of people who say they believe in Jesus but don't believe like Jesus. Nothing personal but God didn't create an idiot in my case. I haven't got the guts to call myself a Christian much less decide on my own that I am one and take the name of the Holy dude in vain! Just had to get it off my chest, if you know what I mean! See! I was raised a Catholic! I went to church as a kid on a regular basis, on a very regular basis. There was no choice! It was a must. I went to catechism like everyone else making their communion and confirmation. In fact, I was a practicing Catholic for quite a few years until I returned from the military. It was then I discovered that Catholics "all of a sudden" were Christians.

Let me explain! Before I went into the military, we weren't Christians. At least to my recollection. I wasn't even allowed to walk into another church much less read the bible. I was told the Pope read it and he'd tell us what we needed to know. That if we opened it, we'd never understand it because of being carnal minded. So we didn't, because we didn't think to. In a funny kind of way he shouldn't have told us that. He should have saved it for the Christians that vote for the dealth penalty.

When I returned from military duty, Catholicism was different, very different. Everything changed. I was so used to the old thing that I had a difficult time getting into the new thing. In fact, I never did to this day. I excommunicated myself. As I said, things changed drastically. Three things truly stood out for me. The first was that I didn't need to be concerned about eating meat on Friday's anymore. Secondly, I understood the mass. I realized I didn't like it. It was spoken in English rather than Latin. I didn't understand Latin but I loved the sound of it when it was spoken. And last but not least, when I went into the church I notice that there were two different seating arrangements. In one section of worship, upon the wall was a Cross with the image of Jesus hanging on it. And in a different location there was a generic cross (one without Jesus hanging) looming before me. It was then that I learned the difference between church law that can change according to the fancy of man versus the divine law of the universe that changes for no man. In fact, the Elohim isn't a respecter of persons at all, including Jesus. Needless to say, that's all behind me now. Don't get me wrong, please! Those days were great because they were stepping stones into eternity. Sure I was disappointed when I returned from the military. I was sad. Very sad! But I was also glad because I didn't have to waste any more time in giving away my power of discernment and take upon myself man's idea of God. I've come along way since then.

I've learned why St. Peter was crucified upside down rather than right side up like His Lord. He knew He deserved to go to hell for creating another religion like Judaism. In other words, laying out all these rules. In reality, you don't have to do anything to come to God. If God ain't with you then you are already dead for all practical purposes, you just don't know it and you are better off if you never do.

St. Paul proved the point that you don't need to find God that He will gladly come to you in due time.

Paul met the Lord on the road to Damascus. He's the dude with no eyelids. He was a Roman citizen and Jewish Pharisee with a hell of a lot of authority before the Lord caught him trying to kill Him a second time, in the lifeform of St. Stephen. I should make it clear that Paul didn't directly take any action to kill Stephen. He did it indirectly by not doing anything to stop Stephen being stoned by a crowd of people. He could have stopped it but didn't because it was his job to track down the disciples and kill them. "What are you doing to me Saul?" (Acts 9:4) That's the words he supposedly heard coming from the sky where a bright light appeared before him and burned away his eyelids. I personally think it was the Spirit of Christ popping out of the body of St. Stephen, and on its way back into the atmosphere, it spoke to Paul in His awareness.

Jesus has no need for people on earth to win souls for Him. He's got His, and the whole idea is for us to get ours. Winning souls for Jesus is evil thinking. Where you are at . . . . is where it is . . . for you . . . . regardless of appearances. In due time, you will see it . . . keep the faith . . . or, at least keep the faith that you ain't got no faith.

Being reborn isn't a mystery. The first birth is for the flesh. And the second birth is for the spirit. When you are ready to see things like they are, you will and not before. God doesn't pressure you, why let others do it? God knows that you have life force within you and that's all the force you need, life! So live, and in living you will come to know that God is having a ball in being you for Christ sake, plain and simple!

All paths lead to where you stand. After all, the world is round. What goes around, comes around. So, sit down, take a load off your mind and laugh your ass off until you realize the glory of the only Begotten awakening within you now as joy to be alive! Realize, "No one goes to heaven except He that came from heaven even the Son of God that is heaven." (John 3:13) So, either you are from heaven and you can't help but return to whence you came like water evaporating; or, you aren't from heaven and you ain't going no place. Might as well settle down and enjoy where you are at. Ain't nobody getting out of this game of life, alive!

My life experience has taught me well that you do not have to be perfect for God. The mere fact that you feel you do is proof of being possessed by man's ideology rather than the divine providence of your soul nature, which was prepared before the foundations of the earth, to bring forth the awareness that I am telling you the God's honest truth. If you have the capacity to see that I am telling you the truth then the truth will set you into the freedom to see to it that you enjoy your life to the fullest. Such a salvation is what we all could use for safe keeping. So, with that in mind, free yourself from the chains of bondage holding you back from becoming the greatest person you know by laughing at it all.Ê
