Welcome!

Happy Holidays and welcome to a new issue of the American Spirit Newspaper. This issue contains articles that address different aspects of this season that you may find yourself experiencing. The Holidays are a special time and there is much going on both internally and externally. Within these pages you will find information that can help you during this most wonderful, and yet for some of us, often difficult time of year. No matter what you are experiencing you are not alone, and you may discover your kinship with other sensitive souls as you read these pages.
This “good news” publication is designed to offer just that – the good news that if you are feeling out of sorts there is a way to turn things around. We offer insights into how you can do this and these, in turn, can help you experience your best Holiday Season yet. Our newspaper is for the sensitive soul. It is designed to remind you that you are a spiritual being with a body that has psychic talents, and that you can use these talents to experience life more fully.
If you have ever found yourself overwhelmed, pressured or downhearted during the Holiday Season you are not alone. Within these pages you’ll discover how you can stay amused during the Holiday Season and have the experience you truly want this year, rather than succumb to the expectations of others around you. You’ll also share in the insights of others who have learned how to overcome loneliness during the Holiday Season. And if you find it difficult to get into the Holiday gift giving spirit, you may find something of value for you in the article “Giving without Strings” and re-discover the joy of giving.
Finally, in this issue you will find the article “Right Minded” by our founder Rev. William Duby. In this article Rev. Duby discusses the importance of our spiritual education to keep our minds focused properly for a healthy and whole life. Though we are educated from early on by the world at large how to live in society, we are not educated about ourselves as a spiritual being with a body. Our spiritual education is vital because once armed with this information, we are more able to live the kind of lifestyle that is to our highest good. Originally published during the Holiday season, we re-publish this article today because this is one of the most important times of the year to focus our attention on our spiritual life. In fact, the Holidays are “Holy Days”, meaning days dedicated to God or spirit.
If you could have the kind of Holiday Season you truly desire in your heart of hearts what would that be like?  Take a moment to look within and you may surprise yourself. Happy Holidays!
