The Power of Positive Thinking
By Ann Savino

Have you ever examined the way changes happen in your life? Successful change happens in our life when we change the way we are looking at a situation. An example of this is when we go through dramatic changes that often times seem negative and harsh; a death, an illness, a divorce, financial losses, etc. These things impact our lives deeply as we struggle to understand, to overcome and heal. The main struggle that lies around this type of inevitable transformation is changing our thinking about the situation. “How could this have happened” and “I can’t go on like this” changes into “This did happen” and “I’ve got to go forward with my life.”
As we let go of our expectations, which are really deeply-rooted thought patterns, the pain of our loss lessens. We find inspiration again. The same is true of all changes that occur in our lives, not just the ones that are life-altering. Maybe you want to switch jobs or careers, maybe you would like to have a romantic relationship. The same universal mechanism of thought erases and thought replaces is at work.
If you want to experience positive change you need to let go of negative thinking. If you believe that you can’t have something, you never will achieve it because your belief is blocking your experience of it. Napoleon Hill, the author of Think and Grow Rich said “That whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
