The Power of Positive Thinking
By Ann Savino
Have you ever examined the way changes happen in your life? Successful change happens in our life when we change the way we are looking at a situation. An example of this is when we go through dramatic changes that often times seem negative and harsh; a death, an illness, a divorce, financial losses, etc. These things impact our lives deeply as we struggle to understand, to overcome and heal. The main struggle that lies around this type of inevitable transformation is changing our thinking about the situation. How could this have happened and I cant go on like this changes into This did happen and Ive got to go forward with my life.
As we let go of our expectations, which are really deeply-rooted thought patterns, the pain of our loss lessens. We find inspiration again. The same is true of all changes that occur in our lives, not just the ones that are life-altering. Maybe you want to switch jobs or careers, maybe you would like to have a romantic relationship. The same universal mechanism of thought erases and thought replaces is at work.
If you want to experience positive change you need to let go of negative thinking. If you believe that you cant have something, you never will achieve it because your belief is blocking your experience of it. Napoleon Hill, the author of Think and Grow Rich said That whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
It is vital for each of us to gain mastery over the quality of thinking that we entertain for it affects the quality of life that we experience. Each of us is empowered from within to do this. As we learn to not let our imaginations run away with us in the negative by giving away our power to worry and fear, we discover who we really are and what we are capable of doing. We achieve our goals and become better spouses, parents, employees and friends because we are being more of who we truly are, which is a divine perfect spiritual being.
We are not limited beings forever defined by our mistakes and shortcomings. We are children of God who have access to His perfect mind that is within us at all times. We can turn within and turn negative thinking around so we use our imagination in the positive, picturing and feeling what we want to experience. As we strengthen this muscle incredible changes happen. We get inspired and do things out of enjoyment instead of obligation. The power of a decided mind can move mountains.
