The More Things Change The More...
By Rev. William H. Duby
We recently went to the Whole Life Expo in San Francisco. As always, it was well
represented with every conceivable way and means to experience healing. After
visiting our booth for awhile I decided to walk around and see the other exhibits
and what they had to offer.
I
was sight seeing when all of a sudden I saw a tall man in a booth
that went to the same psychic school I did over fifteen (15) years
ago. Even though we were not in the same class we knew each other. In
fact, my friend, Angela, was a classmate with the man.
To make a long story short, I was surprised to see the man because
the last I had heard, he had left the country for his native land.
So, I was somewhat surprised. I didn't say anything to him at the
time because he was talking to someone. So, knowing Angela had gone
to school with him, and liked him a lot, I went back to our booth to
inform her that he was at the fair.
Rather than tell her, I thought it well to surprise her. I told her I
wanted her to see something that I had seen. She excused herself from
our booth and followed me back to where I saw this man. Needless to
say, when she saw him her whole face lit up like a bright sunny day
and a big smile beamed from ear to ear. Like I said earlier, she
liked him as a person. We both said hello to him. I could see she
wanted to talk with him so she could catch up with the latest. I just
stepped back, watched and observed.
While I was watching Angela and her friend talk back and forth,
another guy emerged from the booth. He was familiar to me. He had
come to our psychic healing clinic on a couple of occasions. Anyway,
he came right up to me. He was as lit up in the positive sense of the
word as Angela was when she saw her friend. He couldn't wait to talk
to me. He was very friendly. He treated me as though I was someone
important in his life.
He began by apologizing for not showing up at our place for a
psychic healing as much as he would have liked. And, get this folks,
the primary reason he didn't show up was, he was told to stay away
from our place. That if he studied with us he couldn't be at his
psychic school. And he went on to say that I was doing a good job and
to keep up the work, that he listens to me on the radio, etc.
Needless to say, I was amused by what he was sharing with me. And now
my story begins in earnest.
I went to the same psychic school fifteen years before. He went
there before I did. I knew the founder of the psychic school quite
well. Everyone who knew him called him "Lew."
He visited me at my home as well as I visited him at his home. He
helped raise the children. He helped me, he helped my girlfriend, he
was good to us. I guess what I am saying is we were on the same wave
length. I learned well because he taught me well.
One day before I graduated and left his school he told me, "How
does it feel to know that I am the only one in the world that can let
you do what you are doing?" I didn't quite understand where he was
coming from then. I do now. He definitely knew the people around him,
didn't he?
He used to say that he had 10-15 thousand "mad" graduates. I can
see why he said what he did. He taught the subject but they didn't
subject themselves to the discipline of the teaching to truly learn
it.
There is an old saying, "When the student is ready the teacher
will appear." Obviously, a lot of his students threw the baby out
with the bath water. Or, they missed the mission because of the man.
Lew was a great man while he was embodied. In my book, he is still
great because his teaching lives on in the hearts of those who care
for their fellow man.
Lewis taught that competition will close down your psychic
ability. That you should pay others to read your own dirty mental
image pictures. In other words, every word you say is a prayer for or
against yourself. Competition is the cause of spiritual blindness,
mental stupidity and emotional ignorance that leads downward into
personal disgrace because you fail yourself miserably.
When I first went to the psychic school I was greeted by a woman
who took one look at me, lifted her hands and made the sign of the
cross with her fingers, gesturing that I was supposedly a vampire.
Can you believe it? The place is supposed to work on spirit. The
place is supposed to be loaded with healers. I was dumbfounded and in
shock because I was looking for help. The way I was treated I
wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. But I overlooked it at the time
because I was on the search for the truth.
Within a couple of weeks, after bringing many of my friends to the
school, I was told by the acting director at the time, that I could
come but my friends could not. That same individual did his utmost to
try, with no avail, to make Lewis hold back my graduation. That guy
is no longer the director of that school. He ended up in divorce,
forced to leave his post and now lives in another state. Did I appear
to be a threat to these people or what? A little insecure if you ask
me. Goes to show you. What goes around, comes around.
After talking with this friendly guy at the fair, it became
apparent that there are still some of the old guard at the school who
have failed themselves miserably by remaining in competition with me,
and my methods for perpetuating the teaching of Lew. I'm tempted to
say that I am sorry for them but that would be a lie. I am amused
because I know what Lew taught is correct. Competition will close
down your psychic ability. And, again, if they weren't in competition
with themselves they wouldn't be with me. I am the perfect mirror to
remind them that they have lost contact with the vibration of their
mentor as well as their soul that can save them from disgrace.
Competition may be great for outdoor sports but not for the indoor
variety. What I gathered from the kind man that talked with me is,
that the same elements are in the psychic school now as when I was
there, except now they are in positions of leadership, teaching
competition by their example rather than exemplifying the
non-competitive reality of their late mentor, Lew. I hope these
characters haven't given up their day job. All I know is that a man's
gift makes room for him. I've found my place because of the help of
Lew. I hope my writing this article will help the few there destined
to read it get unstuck.
What these competitors do not realize is that I was given the
blessings of the founder to go out and learn. I did and today many of
those ex-students of his are lost in their ego, trying desperately to
keep their "so called" flock together by threats and other control
tactics. It won't work forever because even the stupid awaken sooner
or later. If these competitors were listening to themselves, they'd
realize their intuition is telling them that I have much to teach
their students, else they wouldn't feel compelled to threaten their
people that are intuitively guided to my place for the healing of
their life. In other words, if they weren't throwing rocks at my
house they wouldn't worry about breaking their own windows.
It is amazing how the more things change the more they stay the
same. Freedom is the essence of life and the quintessence of the
Supreme Being will make certain it remains that way for eternity.
As the one before me would say, "Be amused."
