The Myth of Marriage

I recently got married and have discovered very quickly a big myth about marriage. I see that because two people go through the ceremony does not mean they are married on a moral level. Only God can bring this about. This happens when there is an agreement and cooperation for a common goal and both are connected to God.

I did not know what this scripture meant before I was married. I do now because of the situation I found myself in. I realized I could not love my husband on my own. I was a startled when I saw that I had no love to give this man. All I could do was face the fact, as a wife, I was a channel for the love of God to flow through.

When I tried to love him my way, he went his way and became sick by seeing me in the negative light of being subservient. Simply put, a piece of property and a piece of meat. Well let me tell you, that turned me off, and I found myself hating his attitude. I was loving him in such a way that I was loving him for him and he hated me, but no more. He can now love himself and I will support him in it.

Even though I was a newlywed who had just returned from the honeymoon, I kicked him out and believe it or not he has become a better man for it. I am a wife, his wife. I am not property. I am not a piece of meat. I am a woman. To be exact, I am a spirit who owns and operates a female body. I am born of immortal fire and the love for God is my witness that when you breathe a sigh of relief, you're free.

My husband is undergoing changes. He lied when he said he had put off his mother. He tried to make me his mother and expected conjugal visits in the marriage bed. I am not his mother and I feel it would be incestuous to make love to a boy. I can only bond with a man because I am a woman and the spirithood of my womanhood demands respect for the well being of my self, my husband and our future child.

I write this testimony because there are a lot of women like me who find themselves in similar predicaments. My husband is starting to come around because I chose to listen to my own information rather than compromise it and give into his insanity. It's because of that our marriage now has a chance.

God I love this teaching. When it helps me, it helps everyone who can have it.
