The Teachings of Jesus

I recently returned from a road trip around the United States. It was not so much a vacation as it was a spiritual journey; a chance to be in different situations which provided opportunities for growth that I normally don't get at home. I was also the designated "Camp Director". I had to make sure the thirty travelers knew where we were going each day, that they had correct map directions, that they knew where we'd be sleeping each night, to name just a few of my responsibilities.

The difference in my mental outlook at the end of the trip compared to the beginning is like night and day. I learned how my mind operates and why I've often had communication problems in my life. I was able to watch myself deal with the people I was responsible for, and saw how the way I communicated with the group affected how well they understood me. I learned how to focus and define my mind. I learned a whole new meaning to truly caring about my fellow man. I saw how my thinking would affect everyone so learned how to include everyone in my thinking.

Rev. Bill was coaching me throughout the journey. I could not have received a better education in any classroom this world has to offer. I had a golden opportunity of a lifetime to be in a situation where there was no room for my personality to take over and try to have it's way, and I had one of the best times of my life.

I used trance daily to alter consciousness, to change my way of thinking to match the Supreme Being's thinking. No, I don't mean I had these lofty, air ware thoughts of peace, love and happiness. By going into trance I was able to release mental garbage, quit analyzing and be able to act in the moment.

I believe that is the message Jesus is saying in this verse. His way is the easy way. If we simply quit analyzing and change the way we look at situations, if we change our thinking, then change can take place without us having to manipulate the situation. It is when we try so hard to change ourselves and events that screw things up.

Trance is the only way I know to do this. Through trance, I have learned to totally accept myself and let myself be the way I am. I mean, if God already accepts me, what else is there? And it doesn't have to take a long time. In the twinkling of an eye...you can alter consciousness and have a change in perception. On the trip, when the stress factor would get high, I'd give myself a quick refresher and was amazed at the results.
