Welcome
to our new animal communication column in the American Spirit Newspaper.
We are providing this forum for those of you who may have questions
and want some psychic insight into what's going on at the energy level
with your pet. Health and behavioral issues can arise when there are
blocks to the natural flow of an animal's energy. By clearing these
blocks, the natural state of health can be restored. Also interesting
to explore is the dynamics of your relationship with your pet. Our pets
are some of the closest companions we have in our lives. Take this opportunity
to ask for insight that can help improve the quality of your life with
your pet. Send your questions to: Ann Savino, the Bay Area Pet Psychic,

Dear Pet Psychic,
I have two pets and would like to know about their relationship. I have
a wonderful cat about 1-1/2 years old. I recently adopted a 3 month
old bunny for my classroom. My intention to have the bunny on weekends
and holidays is not working and she now must come home with me every
afternoon. I chose this rabbit because she reminded me of my cat, both
are very gentle and well-behaved. I am concerned that my cat is being
a bit too aggressive at times when trying to play with the bunny. Is
she resentful of this new bunny? Of me? Of us going off in the morning
together? She seems to be doing her best and likes to be around the
rabbit. What can I do to ensure a gentle and rewarding friendship between
them? Thanks, Dawn
Dear Dawn,
I see your cat acting instinctively around the bunny. Her scent and
actions bring out more of her predatorial instincts. I see your cat
being a little agitated when she spends time with the bunny, like she
wants to play with her but how that can also cross a line. It looks
like the more time she spends with the bunny (with you around to supervise),
the more used to the bunny she will get and the instincts will go more
in the background. I do not see her being resentful, I just see her
aggressive behavior being instinctive behavior which will grow less
as the bunny becomes more familiar.
Dear Pet Psychic,
My dog Holly has always been very sensitive. I got her from a shelter
when she was only 8 weeks old so I know she was not abused or on the
street. She was born at the shelter. She is five years old. Holly is
afraid of almost everything. She is very friendly and submissive with
people and other animals. She jumps and runs if she hears any loud noise
even if she's in the backyard or house. She whines and cries a lot in
her sleep and I wake her up because I worry she is having "nightmares."
My question is what is causing her to have all of this fear? Thanks,
Jamie
Dear Jamie,
I see that Holly's impressionable time as a puppy was at the shelter
and she was in a situation where she had no control and no real nurturing
or permanent connection with one person or mother dog. It looks like
this affected her nervous system and she became a fearful dog because
there was no calming or grounding influence around her. She also looks
like a submissive dog by nature which only became more pronounced because
of the situation. By being calm yourself and not getting too involved
emotionally when she has one of her fear moments, you will provide an
environment where she feels safe and can come out of this behavior more
quickly.
Dear Pet Psychic,
I am curious to know why does my cat pee frequently on my things? Thanks,
Rachel
Dear Rachel,
I see your cat wanting more of your attention. It looks like it pees
on your things when things aren't going the way it wants, like you are
gone too much or too busy. It is your cat's way of showing you its displeasure
and letting you know that it considers you "theirs".
Dear Pet Psychic,
The vet told me that my cat Jake has something called somatitis. I think
it entails irritated gums since he has an allergy to his own saliva.
I started giving him vitamin C and also brushing his teeth twice a week.
Can you tell me about the energy in his space that may be contributing
to this problem? And also let me know about any tips that may help to
keep him healthy? Thanks, SJA
Dear SJA,
I see a picture that you are dealing with that is contributing to this
situation. I see a picture of your mother and places where you didn't
feel properly nurtured by her and where you are learning to nurture
yourself and be more accepting of yourself. I see this energy affects
the cat when you feel invalidated, like you don't do a good job of running
your life. This looks like something you are working through right now
and it looks like you are a great pet owner, showing him lots of love.
It looks like you are learning to be less hard on yourself and validate
yourself more.
